Hello everyone! This is just a general, random life update kind of post. I feel like I only post when I have big things to talk about or important things to share… but I want to start documenting and sharing more of my everyday life, too.
Social media and the internet have a way of highlighting the glamorous parts of our lives. If you scroll through my Instagram, it looks like all I do is travel and drink fancy coffee. Ha! I’m typing this while sitting on campus between classes, wearing no makeup, sipping a big cup of tea in hopes of getting a little caffeine boost before heading off to my afternoon lecture. Anyway, I love documenting my highlights — cool trips and beautiful places and new experiences — but I think its also meaningful to share my day to day.
It has been a hard winter, and quite honestly, a hard year. I was lucky enough to find a job over winter break, so I haven’t really taken a break since I began law school in August. I am so excited though, because I’m getting ready to head to NYC over spring break! I love Atlanta, but has been way too long since I’ve gone anywhere new and believe it or not, this will be my first time in New York! I’ve flown through, but this will be my first time visiting for real. The travel bug is back. I’m feeling restless and excited to explore somewhere new and spend some quality time with a good friend!
One thing I’ve been trying to focus on is rest and self care. It’s really easy to get caught up in the hype trying to juggle and balance everything. I think rest is really underrated in our society. I am learning that self care doesn’t have to be a dramatic thing. Something as simple as making time to watch my favorite show is a good place to start. Speaking of - I just caught up on New Girl and I cannot wait for the next season / don’t know what I’m going to do when the show ends.
Recently I’ve been learning about shopping sustainably and ethically and recently I’ve really been loving thrifting. It’s so fun finding something cute that is a good deal, good for the environment and people, and something that not everyone has! I’m thinking of sharing some fashion posts on here… thoughts? Also, if you have any fave sustainable brands or designers, I would love to hear them!
Thanks for stopping by. A little about me — I have a latte each morning and drink about 7 cups of tea a day (not exaggerating.) I live in Atlanta where I'm going to law school. I like long distance running and I love my city and I love exploring our beautiful earth. I believe in following our passions & being free.
I started this blog to document and share my favorite moments while traveling. This is a place where I process my ideas, share the aches and joys of my heart, speak truth, and shine light on the beauty I see in the world.
I've realized that what I probably love most about traveling is the same thing I love about writing — the way it connects me to myself and other people. I hope as you read my words, you feel connected to our shared humanity.
Thank you for reading. :)
