My very first weekend in Europe, I visited Interlaken for a ski weekend. Before this trip, I'd only been skiing a few times on fake snow, so I was in for a real treat. I quickly discovered that blue diamonds in Interlaken are just a liiiiitle bit more challenging that blue diamonds in North Carolina!
Obertraun was the perfect destination for a little mountain weekend. A few friends and I rented a house in town, where we cozied up and enjoyed homemade cookies, sung along (not very well) to some songs on the guitar, and of course, sipped our 3 Euro wine.
We spent the day wandering around town, which was filled with colorful houses and pastry shops, then took a ferry over to hike through the mountains. The air was crisp and view was spectacular. We even drank fresh spring water straight from the mountain!
One of the highlights of this little excursion was going to the hot air balloon festival and watching all of the balloons drift into the night sky.
Thanks for stopping by. A little about me — I have a latte each morning and drink about 7 cups of tea a day (I'm not exaggerating.) I live in Atlanta where I'm going to law school. I like long distance running and I love my city and I love exploring our beautiful earth. I believe in being vulnerable, following our passions & being free.
I started this blog to document and share my favorite moments while traveling. This is a place where I process my ideas, share the aches and joys of my heart, speak truth, and shine light on the beauty I see in the world.
I've realized that what I probably love most about traveling is the same thing I love about writing — the way it connects me to myself and other people. I hope as you read my words, you feel connected to our shared humanity.
Thank you for reading. :)
